Last week we posted on the changes made to the How to Rent Guide by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
The Guide was substantially updated on 31 May 2019 to reflect the changes introduced by the Tenant Fees Act. However, since then there have been a further 2 minor changes which means that landlords and agents should now be providing this current version for any new tenancy.
Landlords and agents are required to provide tenants with the guide that is current at the time of the tenancy commencing or providing a replacement if it has been updated when the tenancy becomes statutory periodic. It is therefore paramount that landlords and agents are keeping an eye on the updates mentioned on the MHCLG website and using the correct version of the guide.
