As is so often the case recently, the blog contains more bad news for Landlords and Agents.
The moratorium on possession claims which was originally due to end in June and then was due to definitely end on 23 August, is now going to extended once again. The new date is 20th September 2020 with the expectation being that Practice Direction 51Z will be amended to reflect the change.
This is presumably so as to afford enough time for Parliament to reconvene in September to discuss more concrete plans for the eviction procedure moving forwards. Quite why this could not have been sorted out before now though is anyone’s guess.
